Welcome to Moose Walk Cabin. Your Alaskan home away from home is a two-story log home nestled on a quiet wooded lot by a large stream. The cabin is in a prime location, close to activities, but still remote enough to get that Alaska wilderness feel.

LOCATION
Moose Walk Cabin is situated in the heart of all your Interior Alaska destinations: North Pole Alaska. Grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, and the famous Santa Claus house are a short 4 miles from the cabin. Downtown Fairbanks and Fairbanks International Airport are a quick 20 minute drive.
WINTER VISITORS
If comfortably watching natures greatest winter exhibition (the Aurora Borealis) is on your bucket list; then you've found the right place. No one knows what time of night the aurora will appear. Stay nice and cozy snuggled on the couch in the cabin, while you anxiously gaze out the large picture windows for the mystical aurora to begin its dance. While outside capturing those magical moments, don't worry about getting cold and missing a single second of the aurora. Nestle up to a crackling fire in front of the cabin as the skies mesmerize you with magical hues of green, purple, and red.

At the front porch, strap on your skis or snowshoes and trek out into the winter wonderland. You will find endless miles of trails waiting for you to discover them.

After a long day of braving the Alaskan cold, unwind by the wood stove as you listen to the wood crackle and watch the flames dance across the logs. Wood is free and provided on site. We are happy to provide instruction for the wood stove. The wood stove will heat the cabin but not necessary to use. The cabin has a fuel oil heater as the primary heat source.
SUMMER VISITORS
Paddle down the meandering stream in a canoe for a romantic trip or to spend quality time with the kids. Two canoes with multiple sizes of life vests are provided.
Jump in the canoe or amble along the bank to fish for grayling by fly rod or spinning rod. Grayling are easier to catch on a fly rod. Don't worry if you have never fished with a fly rod. It is easy. Every guest who has used a fly rod for the first time at Moose Walk Cabin has caught fish. Please let us know if you need fishing instruction. We are happy to help.
From the front door you can blaze endless miles of hiking, and ATV trails. Bring your ATVs; there is plenty of parking.

Downstairs:
Put your feet up and relax on the recliner couches as you look through the picture windows at the amazing aurora or view of the stream that abounds with wildlife. Moose, squirrels, ducks, Bald Eagles, owls, beavers, porcupines, and foxes are seen almost daily.
After a long day of site seeing, kick back with a movie. With 235 channels to choose from, you won't miss your favorite show or sports team.
Slap on your apron. If you plan to cook for a large family or an elegant dinner for two, the full size kitchen, packed with utensils and dishes, is sure to meet any chef's needs. The dining area comfortably seats 6.
Upstairs:
Amble up the stairs where the open floor plan with two plush pillow top queen beds provide comfortable slumber.
Enjoy the full bathroom with combination shower/tub. Hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels, and washcloths provided.
Unpack the suitcases--get comfortable. The large dresser, and plenty of closet space for storage, let you feel right at home for longer stays.
The windows have blinds for privacy and to provide a darker room when the summer midnight sun is still glowing.
OUTSIDE
Circle around the fire-pit. It's the perfect place for roasting marshmallows and hot dogs. For those that want to cook a meal, a custom grill rack with a spit will meet your needs. If you don't have the time for open fire cooking, a propane grill is also provided.
Head to the large back yard for a game of horseshoes or playing catch with the kids.
Turn into the large private driveway with your car, truck w/ trailer, RV or even a bus. There is lots of parking--even for a greyhound bus.

GREAT TO KNOW INFO
A rental vehicle is necessary when visiting Alaska. Public transportation is not what you see in other countries and big cities. Taxis are available, but cost is typically more than a rental vehicle. A one-way taxi trip to the airport is around $60.00. A 4-wheel drive vehicle is not necessary, but recommended if you plan to drive to the Arctic Circle.
